In the chain of the body chromatine clever polymers containing phototrophic fragments synthesis and characterization

Organic compounds attracted considerable attention to their photochromic properties. Polymers containing photochromic fragments are referred to as "smart polymers". "Smart polymers" are used to store optical data, to make memory cards, as mobile loaders and as a photoswitchable elements. Polymers with photochromic fragment that are used in optical memory must satisfy the following requirements: resistance to the factor (temperature, light, humidity, electric and magnetic fields) whose color changes as a result of the impact of the electric current, change the color and the other. The aim of our work was the synthesis of methylsiloxane oligomers with photochromic groups in the side chain. For this purpose the hydrosilylation reactions of methylhydro¬siloxane with 4-allyloxyazobenzene has been studied in the presence of Karstedt’s catalysts. Also hydrosilylation reactions of 2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl¬cyclotetrasiloxane with 4-ally¬loxy¬azobenzene was carried out and then the reaction of ring-opening polymerization in presence of potassium hydroxide and hexamethyldisiloxane was studied. The synthesized oligomers were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectral data, gel per¬meation chromatography and ther¬mal analyses. Via UV spectroscopy method cis-trans isomerization was studied.
